This Privacy Policy explains how Dance Mobile, LLC ("Dancity," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Platform"). Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access the Platform.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:
- Account Information: Name, email address, password, profile photo, and dance preferences
- Profile Information: Dance styles, skill level, bio, and social media links
- Location Data: Your city, region, and country to show relevant events near you; we may also derive approximate location from your IP address or, with your permission, your device location
- Usage Data: Events you view, save, or attend; interactions with other users
- Communications: Messages you send through the Platform and feedback you provide
- Optional Features: If you use compatibility or matching features, the preferences and answers you provide
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information
- Payment Information: When you buy or sell through the Platform, payments are processed by Stripe; we receive limited transaction details but do not store full payment card numbers
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our Platform
- Show you dance events, classes, and festivals relevant to your location and interests
- Connect you with other dancers and the dance community
- Send you notifications about events, updates, and promotional content (with your consent)
- Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests
- Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities on our Platform
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities
- Personalize your experience and deliver content tailored to your interests
Text Messages (SMS)
When you add your mobile phone number, we send a one-time verification code by SMS to confirm the number, delivered through our messaging provider (Twilio). By providing your phone number, you consent to receive these one-time verification messages from Dancity.
Message frequency depends on your activity — typically one message per verification request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time.
We do not use SMS to send marketing or promotional messages, and we do not share your mobile number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
Sharing Your Information
We may share your information in the following situations:
- With Event Organizers: When you RSVP or purchase tickets, we share necessary information with event hosts
- With Other Users: Your public profile information is visible to other dancers on the Platform
- With Service Providers: Third parties that operate the Platform on our behalf, including Supabase (database, authentication, hosting), Amazon Web Services (hosting), Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS verification), and Cloudflare (security and delivery)
- For Legal Reasons: When required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of users
- Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale, or acquisition of our company
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
International Data Transfers
Dancity operates globally, and your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure that your personal information remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy, including implementing Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.
